A two-artist exhibition rooted in place. Atul Bhalla and Robert Zhao Renhui, both known for lens-based practices that interrogate human relationships with nature and ecosystems, spent two months living and working in and around Hampi as invited residents. Together they moved through the Tungabhadra Basin by car and on foot, through red rock terrain, sacred ruins, deep green water, and wildlife, looking not at the landscape but into it.
The resulting works turned toward natural microcosms, invisible histories, and the layered human presence that a place this old holds without announcing itself. Two artists, distinct in focus, arriving at unexpected common ground. Curated by Yasufumi Nakamori. A collaboration with The Institutum, Singapore.
